Summary/Abstract: Similar to culture, communication represents a concept of concern and continuous appeal in various fields of study , among which psychology, sociology, etnology, and management as well. The intercultural dialogue is, in fact, a polyphony, an overlapping of voices expressing values, beliefs and opinions rooted in one’s own culture. However, culture can become an obstacle in intercultural communication. In order to overcome the barrier, in the context of a intercultural business relationship, it is necessary to understand the norms and values of the interlocutor and to become aware of the cultural differences occuring in this process. The communication skills shown in the relationships with an interlocutor belonging to a different culture are compulsory for negotiations, for expat managers and for all those operating in the world market.
