Summary/Abstract: The idea of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) is one of most important tools of shaping the future of an enterprise. By introducing CSR one is able to design strategies based on knowledge which lead to a balanced development in the economic, social and ecologic fields. The aim of the article is to prove that a proper perception of CSR includes the awareness that this tool is not solely a part of an enterprise’s marketing, but should have its source mostly in social awareness of an entrepreneur and their need to participate in solving social problems, such as unemployment, poverty and environmental protection. At the same time an entrepreneur should not forget about pragmatism, which should be nevertheless compliant with social coherence and balanced development.
