Summary/Abstract: Libraries are as an important source of information as educational institutions. Having appreciated this, Ottomans founded through vaqfs some libraries in mosques and madrasas. Those libraries provided a service based on the conditions the founder of librray, waqf holder, provided. There were hundreds of libraries founded in the Ottoman towns and cities. Like those, Huseyin Agha Library in Turgutlu dated 1846 was a waqf foundation and worked in similar ways. Huseyin Agha organized a waqfıye for the library he had founded. This waqfıye was registered in a Manisa Şeriyye sicili (court records) numbered 287 and in an account numbered 592 in the Archive of General Office of Foundations (Vaqfs). This article, based on archival documents, provides information on how library worked, what its sources of income were and who were employed there.
