Summary/Abstract: Camping sites have become a permanent part of accommodation offered in the world. Within that category, France is the leader in terms of the number of camping sites. Poland, similarly to other countries of Eastern Europe, is little developed in that area. That is the consequence of the lack of tradition, insufficiently developed in the past individual motoring, scarce road network, and political barriers. All things considered, camping infrastructure provides beneficial conditions for the development of various forms of tourism, in particular nature tourism. This paper is poised to identify the special features of the product and explore the development trends of camping sites on the international tourist market. It also presents prerequisites and projections for the development of camping sites on the Polish market.
