Summary/Abstract: This article summarizes the information about all the original (Eulogy by Clement of Ochrid in its short version) and translated (Archip’s version of the miracle at Chonai, Metaphrastes’ version of the same story, Miracle at the monastery of Docheiariou) literary works about the Archangel Michael in Bulgarian literature from the early Middle ages up to the 17th century. The author points out that the big majority of these texts need to be investigated in respect to their date and time of appearance. Further critical analysis and editions of those texts would outline the basic peculiarities of the reception and development of the cult of Archangel Michael in Medieval Bulgaria.
