The Statutes of the Greek Communitiy of Galaţi settled in 1899 and 1924

Summary/Abstract: Along the history, the Greek community, together with the other local communities, played an important role in the constitution of the economical, social, political, cultural and religious life of the town of Galati, a port situated in a border area. The article briefly presents the Statute of the Greek Community of Galati, settled in 1899 and 1924, whose norms regulated the life of the community during the first half of the 20th century. The Statute is also viewed within the broad perspective of the historical realities of its age.
