Summary/Abstract: This paper aims at presenting the manner in which the 7 C’s of communication can be embedded in teaching EFL writing at the Technical University. The syllabus of the sophomore year lists a series of class activities aimed at teaching effective written communication skills. The paper shall introduce the methods and the manner in which the 7 C’s can help the students acquire the proper writing skills. The examples and text fragments are meant to illustrate the way in which the 7 C’s are introduced to the TU students. The concepts shall be followed by a few considerations on the barriers to effective written communication. Amongst the most common barriers we shall mention the rhetorical patterns in the students’ mother tongue and the limitations of their vocabulary in the foreign language. In conclusion, mastering the seven concepts presented in detail shall help our students communicate clearly and effectively in English.
