Summary/Abstract: In the article the development and the growth in the economy, as well as crucial theories associated with these notions were presented. Basic measures of the development and the growth in the economy were presented, as well as statistical data in Poland since 1996 till 2014 about chosen measures of the growth in the economy and social inequalities were shown. The analysis of trends with using the classic least squares method was done in the paper.
