Summary/Abstract: Lean management is one of the most popular and effective approaches to business. There are five main principles of it: creating the value for the customer, working in value streams, maximizing the flow and pull, continuous improvement, empowering the people in the organization and cooperation with suppliers. Lean enterprise uses many different tools and concepts integrating them into one coherent system. Hoshin kanri is a method applied in lean enterprises to coordinate strategy and operational management. The paper emphasizes the integration of lean management and hoshin kanri.
