Alternative care in Poland

Summary/Abstract: The article reviews the history and current functioning of the alternative care and family support in Poland under the Alternative Care and Family Support System Act of June 9th 2011. The author claims that although the Polish system of alternative care was introduced in the early 1990s. and amended in the last 25 years, it still does not fully meet the children’s needs and does not offer much needed support to the incapable parents.
