Summary/Abstract: The problem of consumer market behaviours in the age of globalization and “new consumption” which as a process undergoes dynamic changes, is a significant and still topical subject matter under continual research. Modern consumption and consumers behaviour are still changing in the contemporary world. Development of new techniques and technologies, and particularly the Internet has become a common way manner to meet consumers’ demands and it has contributed to the occurrence of new trends in consumers behaviour, for example: virtualization of consumption. The objective of the article is to answer the question if the Polish society is subject to this trend. The paper includes a theoretical deliberation based on the literature on the subject as well as data derived from the author’s own research and from reports published by Public Opinion Research Centre (CBOS) and Central Statistical Office of Poland (GUS).
