On the pragmatic aspects of the constructions of «small syntax»

Summary/Abstract: In the current paper the term «small syntax» is used to denote the plethora of phraseological syntactic models whose semantics encompasses numerous pragmatic dimensions relating to the modality of irrealis. On the basis of data from Russian, Bulgarian, Polish and Czech it is demonstrated that even though each language is equipped with a unique package of phraseological syntactic models, their functioning is subject to some commonly shared rules.
