Analysis of the needs concerning support of regional innovativeness and entrepreneurship in the Baltic states

Summary/Abstract: Characteristics of separate regions differ significantly from each other. Each of them has different potentials, specific economic activity, and absorption capabilities of new solutions, both in companies and administration. They depend largely on human capital. Therefore, it is interesting how people perceive the role of innovativeness and entrepreneurship in their regions. The paper presents the results of a survey conducted among residents of four NUTS 2 regions: Polish provinces – Kujawy-Pomerania and Warmia-Mazury, Lithuania and Latvia. The aim of this study was to identify the determinants of regional innovativeness and entrepreneurship. Particular emphasis was placed on supporting these processes, and activities and funding sources necessary for further growth.
