Servant of God Archbishop Mečislovas Reinys – The Cherisher of Divine Virtues: Period of Arrest and Detention

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the final stage of life of God’s servant Archbishop Mečislovas Reinys. The dynamics of virtues is highlighted. It aims to present the Servant of God’s heroic virtues, especially manifested during the arrest, interrogation and detention years. Archbishop Mečislovas Reinys always trusted in God’s providence, even during the worst years of detention and interrogation he tried not to judge any person, but on the contrary – to develop human dignity. According to his contemporaries, the Philosophy course, delivered by him to Vladimir prison inmates, is an evidence of this.
