Summary/Abstract: In this chapter, Herodotus, according to its context, specifically notes limit the spread of the power of the Persians to the north. Attempts to understand this phrase in the sense that prior to the writing of his work, was subordinate to the Bosporus Persians (J. Niling, G. R. Tsetskhladze) does not correspond to the context of this chapter of Herodotus.
