Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to present nostalgia as a manipulative technique. Nostalgia as a phenomenon is considered a longing for the past represented in some new media products. In this case it is a successful strategy used by political PRs, advertisements makers, etc. The use of nostalgia in Bulgarian commercials and election advertisements is investigated as well as the function of nostalgia in public discourse.
