Summary/Abstract: The work is about protection of archival material emerging with a special emphasis on it's protection at the republic administrative authorities in RS, and municipal governments in the area monitored by the Archives of RS Branch Office in Trebinje. In order to improve the protection of archives emerging, it is necessary knowing the legal provisions so they could be consistently implement in practice. In particular, the need for protection of archival material in electronic form, creating a unique and harmonized computer programs and defining the concepts in this area. The archive workers who are performing these tasks are facing with new challenges and they have need for continuous professional development.
