Cooperative Banks as Environmentally Responsible Entities. Analysis of Lower Silesia

Summary/Abstract: Corporate social responsibility is now an issue that is discussed more and more often in domestic and foreign literature. As the purpose of the article there was adopted an attempt to verify the hypothesis: are the Polish cooperative banks environmentally responsible institutions? For this purpose there have been analyzed actions (their scope and scale) for the protection of the natural resources of nature actually undertaken by these institutions. Hence, there have been analyzed reports of corporate social responsibility and financial services offered by cooperative banks operating in Lower Silesia, which currently operate under two associations: Polish Co-operative Bank and Co-operative Banking Group. As the methods there were used in the article: the analysis of corporate social responsibility reports selected financial institutions and the analysis of domestic and foreign literature.
