Summary/Abstract: This paper discusses about experiences of protection of archival and registry material self-government in the making and it is highlighted that the protection of the material depends on a number of elements, such as personnel in charge of the care in a registry, unconditional preservation, indifference towards the material, technical equipment of registry etc. A special problem is the electronic records because of modern technology applied only in a number of creators. Archives for their part are doing everything to give contribution to the protection of current records of self-government emerging.
