Summary/Abstract: The role of personal motivation in developing a talented personality, which is an important problem in modern psychology, is considered in the paper. The main approaches to understanding the talent are described. T.O. Gordeeva’s structural motivational model of the talent provides a methodological framework for the study. The paper is based on the ideas of this model.
