Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of the analysis of the strategies of development of rural and urban-rural municipalities of Świętokrzyskie Voivodship in relation to the role of entrepreneurship in the development of the municipality. Although the municipality does not have a statutory obligation to develop strategies, 90 municipalities in the region have prepared strategic documents, and 49 of them considered the development of economic activities in their area important. Local governments of Świętokrzyskie Voivodship being responsible for development policy, defined in their strategies activities aimed at the development of entrepreneurship, using the internal resources and maintaining the natural and cultural environment. Action strategies aimed at the development of entrepreneurship in rural and semi-urban areas of the region can be seen on at least two planes. The first includes the widely understood promotion of the community. The second refers to the development of infrastructure, especially technical one.
