Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to shed light on the orientation process and mutual knowledge sharing between a new employee and the rest employees in a company. The article is based on the assumption that a newcomer is a new sources of knowledge. Therefore, gaining a new employee may positively influence the development of a small company. In the article the orientation process is described, in theory and in practice. The conclusion is that a few small and medium sized enterprises have a well-thought-out orientation program for new employees. Therefore, a few companies can benefit from mutual knowledge sharing.
