Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to propose a model of managerial competencies for responsible and sustainable enterprises. The literature on managerial competencies in this context is scant. The literature on corporate social responsibility and sustainable development is enormous. However, managerial competencies in this context are an under-researched topic. Furthermore, very few companies are committed to CSR and sustainable development. This may result from the shortage of managerial competencies. Based on a literature review, the aim of the paper is to point out which competencies managers need to make their companies responsible and sustainable. These are such competencies as: long-term thinking and seeking opportunities for the business growth in a sustainable manner, knowledge sharing, cross-functional coordination, project management, ethical leadership as well as developing employees and successors.
