Wrocław functional area as the core of the Lower Silesia Voivodeship

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the essence of the functional urban area as the initiator of development processes and the description of its effect on the possibilities and range of actions necessary to improve connections between the core city and the associated territory, possible through the use of integrated territorial investments (ITI). The subject of research is Wrocław Functional Area. The aim of the analysis is also to identify the key areas of integration identified in Wrocław Functional Area ITI Strategy and assess the implementation of this strategy. The authors used the descriptive method, the analysis of literature and source documents, the deductive method and the empirical inference.
