Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to identify the importance of personal ties as a component of business relationships from the perspective of Polish enterprises. The paper is based on qualitative reserach conducted in a form of semi-structured interviews with 16 managers representing 4 enterprises located in Toruń. The content analysis with a use of MAXQDA software leads to a conclusion that the personal dimension of business relationships is very important for Polish managers. They notice various advantages of this kind of relationships, such as growing mutual trust, effective information flow, successful problem solving. At the same time, according to managers, business relationships in Poland are more and more often regarded in transactional way, i.e. without any concern for partners’ personal relationships.
