Summary/Abstract: The objective of the paper is to examine unequal treatment of women in Polish Police. The changes in hiring women in Police are analyzed and the pilot study conducted in a group of 37 police officers, men and women, who worked in logistics department. The Effort-Reward Imbalance Questionnaire was used to evaluate organizational demands and job rewards. The results revealed that there are no significant difference in subjective perception of burdensome job demands and insufficient rewards between women and men in the research group. The exception was the fact that women perceived greater organizational hindrances and insufficient recognition from supervisors. Women in management have equal rights and competencies, but unequal opportunities. Apart from stereotypes, there are no significant differences between women and men at work, which would justify their discrimination. The examples of good practices in this area are also presented.
