Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on the very important and frequently addressed problem of the supportive role of the family environment in developing creative attitudes in children. The primary focus of this paper is the area of parental influence, since parents are the most important figures in a child’s life. These influences are characterized by several dimensions of parental influence such as: parental attitudes, interpersonal communication in a family, arousing motivation in a child to undertake creative activity as well as recognizing and satisfying specific needs of a creative child. This paper also considers parental capabilities with regard to supporting and stimulating creativity development in children in some selected aspects of family life. It also notes the some of the unfavorable conditions (inhibitions, threats, limitations) of parental activities.
