Summary/Abstract: This study focuses on the issue of risk in event management, highlighting the techniques for identifying potential risk situations, as well as the legal regulations relating to the safety and security of participants. As in all areas of activity, in the field of event management, identifying, analyzing and managing risk situations is an important stage on which the success or failure of this activity depends. To assist the event managers in managing risk, theorists recommend various techniques that can be successfully used to identify potential risks. Test events, SWAT analysis, fault diagram, incident report, or scenario development are some of the techniques used by event managers to anticipate, prevent or minimize potential problems or risks they may face. For the good conduct of the events, it is necessary to carefully plan the aspects related to the security and the safety of the participants. It is important, therefore, that event management be familiar with the laws relating to events, such as those relating to the safety of participants, fire safety or safety requirements for the use of pyrotechnic articles.
