Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article was to analyze the legal environment of the expansively growing cooperation between banks and insurers. It is not true, as it could seem to practitioners, that the participation of banks in providing insurance services remains in a legal vacuum. Another problem is the adequacy of existing provisions of the Civil Code and the Law on insurance activities to a specific activity such as bancassurance. The answer to these problems can be constituted by two kinds of recommendations which are an important factor in shaping the legal basis for cooperation between banks and insurers.
