Summary/Abstract: The personality of Monsenior Vladimir Ghyka is becoming more and more known to the scientific life of Romania lately. And the proposal for beatification, the step to sanctification, is supported by various representatives of the secular and religious world from everywhere. His paternal grandfather was the last ruler of Moldavia, Grigore V Ghica X (born in Botosani on 25 August 1807 and died in July 1857, reigning between 1849-1856), and the paternal grandmother was Elena Sturdza (the marriage took place at October 3, 1825, and was the first wife of the ruler). His parents were General Ion (Iancu) Ghica (1829-189114 after some dates or 1831-188115 after other dates) and Alexandrina Blaremberg (deceased in 1914, daughter Pulcheria-Profira D. Ghica and Col. Waldemar Moret of Blaremberg, descendant from King Henry IV of France). Vladimir Ghika was born in Constantinople on Christmas Day of 1873, when his father was the representative of Romania, and died in Jilava Prison on May 17, 1954
