Summary/Abstract: The article provides the definition of the training text, the description of its main functions, the analysis of linguodidactic antinomies: training and non-training texts, authentic and non-authentic texts, verbal and polycode texts. The typology of training texts, conditioned by the content of foreign language teaching, includes the texts for teaching the aspects of the language, four language skills and culture phenomena. The authentic texts include not only the original texts, but also adapted texts and the texts written by the teachers.
