Summary/Abstract: The present study is centered on the figure of the Constantin Dobrescu-Argeş, the politician who was noted throughout his career through your interest for existing problems in rural areas. Born into a family of modest condition, he has known closely the daily weights of peasants and tried to find solutions. Drawn to politics, he used the experience of educator and jurist to promote the interests of the villagers and proposed the opening of primary schools, the organization of conferences by teachers, the establishment of credit institutions in villages, fighting usury and land reform for the peasants or lowering the electoral qualification. Such proposals were promoted from the status of deputy, president of a political party or of the journalist.
