Summary/Abstract: Even though the subject matters of sustainable development and sustainable consumption appear more and more often in the daily life as well as in the range of interests of researchers of various fields, still a low per cent of consumers, including disabled ones, are aware of the importance of the above-specified notion. In her article, the author tried to bring closer the importance of sustainable consumption for the today’s consumers, presented the terminology and indicated the determinants of the consumer choices being made by physically disabled individuals who might have been used for promoting the idea of sustainable consumption among members of that community. The determinants were identified on the basis of author’s own research. The narrowing to the specific segment is dictated by differences in intensity of needs between the physically disabled people and the individuals without impairments of the locomotor system.
