Summary/Abstract: An aim of considerations is to assess the level of consumer protection in the market for food in Poland from the young consumer’s point of view. There was carried out a quantitative research in result of which there was stated that young consumers were convinced that the consumers’ rights in the market for food were not sufficiently protected. Food security is an important priority of the consumer protection policy in the European Union. This aspect was also noticed by young consumers considering as the most important the right to protect health and safety among the rights consumers are entitled to in the market for food. The research findings indicate that the key should be carrying out further educational activities addressed to young consumers in order to improve their knowledge in the area of the rights consumers are entitled to in the market for food.
