LNG as an Alternative Fuel for Transport

Summary/Abstract: Currently, almost the whole transport sector is based on oil, what poses a threat to the environment and economy. The implementation of alternative fuels for transport is a guarantee of security of energy supply. The article analysed the reasons for increased interest in LNG in transport. It identified its main advantages and disadvantages. In addition, it shows the potential and direction of development of the infrastructure for ships and LNG-fuelled vehicles.
