Summary/Abstract: This paper presents and analyzes the project of the pragmatic media ethics by Mike Sandbothe in the problematic context of continental philosophy of media. The main goal is to reveal the practical and epistemological assumptions of pragmatic media ethics. The paper deals with the theoretical and practical perspectives of the model of the pragmatic media ethics. It is argues that 1) pragmatic media ethics is a consistent continuation of the principles of pragmatic philosophy; 2) the project of pragmatic media ethics based on the individual’s practice is able to provide an intersubjective platform for the regulation of action of new media consumers; 3) pragmatic media ethics focuses on virtual interactions taking place in social networks, however Mike Sandbothe’s theoretical conception provides a sufficient basis for a broader scope of media ethics.
