Summary/Abstract: Eschatology and Apocalypse in the Old Testament. The paper proposes a brief overview of the Old Testament elements of eschatology and apocalyptic discourse, mainly focusing on the encounter of the two which gradually generated a new type of discourse, the apocalyptic eschatology. Within this type of discourse, the paper approaches the theme of Yom YHWH, the Day of the Lord, synthetically presenting the manner of understanding it, proper to each of the Old Testament prophets, and finally indicating some possible connections with the Shabbat.
