Summary/Abstract: The participants in the study were allocated into two groups according to their dominant selfconstrual: the total number of participants from the group with a dominant independent self-construal is 285 (22.8% M, 75.1% F) and the total number of participants from the group with a dominant interdependent self-construal is 339 (25.4% M, 71.1% F). Regression analyses were used to study the effect of subjective success and orientations to happiness on subjective well-being for both groups. Differences in the prediction of subjective well-being were identified: in dominant independence the factors are subjective global success, orientation through engagement, and subjective current success; in dominant interdependence the factors are subjective current success, orientation through engagement, subjective global success, orientation through meaning, and material success. There are more predictors in dominant interdependent self-construal than in dominant independent self-construal.
