Summary/Abstract: Our analysis highlights Cantemir’s preference for hypotaxis, symmetry, inversion and ramification, explained by the fact that the author intends to mesmerize the eyes of the reader through the harmony of the construction and their ears through a multitude of sonorous procedures. All these procedures are the result of a special creation of the text and represent a trait of the Moldavian prince’s style, who tried to give to the Romanian language the beauty of the other languages he spoke. Our excursus confirms once again that the Moldavian prince’s ideal for the artistic manner of expression is the cultivation of the rhetorical and poetical cannons.
