Summary/Abstract: This article dwells on the presence of interlinguistic interactions and the particular role played by them in travel literature. Firstly, it explores the virtues of the coexistence of the author’s mother tongue (in which the novel is written) and the foreign language which was the form of verbalization of the narrated events (which is, in its turn, a mother tongue, but of the visited country). After this examination, the paper will focus on the effects of the preservation or disappearance of the previously analyzed interactions in the translation of the novels into the language of the visited country.
