Internet of things in the airport infrastructure as an element of improvement in tourism traffic operations

Summary/Abstract: The subject of discussion is the use of Internet of things in air transport. Solutions within the Internet of things have been rising attention for a few years, especially since it is seen as the next technological revolution comparable to the spread of mobile technology and social networks. The aim of the study is to determine the applicability of the Internet of things in the air transport and the identification of this type of solutions implemented in the upgraded infrastructure of Cracow’s airport. In the theoretical part a query was conducted of Polish and international literature dedicated to the issue of Internet of things. To achieve this goals of research there were used two methods: interview and case study. The presented results of the analysis allow to draw conclusions about the future of the second largest airport in Poland and an indication of potential solutions to the introduction of the Internet of things in the future.
