Creative town as a foundation of development

Summary/Abstract: This research contributes to the identification under regional research a direction of studies on the territorial forms of organization of economic activities in which creative cities and functional areas begin to play quite a big importance. The concept of a creative city describes a conurbation, in which all sorts of creative activities are an integral part of economic and social city life. There was presented a view that creative city is the basis for the development of the functional area. The aim of this article is to characterize a creative city which contributes to the development of the functional area. With the use of a synthetic indicator there was presented a creative city based on Kielce Functional Area.
