Summary/Abstract: In the interwar period the city of Constanta was an important political and economic center, there were a series of construction and public facilities, both administrative buildings as well as a first-class spa resort with a casino, public gardens, numerous hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, cinemas, theaters etc. Moreover, Constanta was an important port on the Black Sea that contributed to the development of the trade and, implicitly, of the Romanian national economy. All of these activities consumed a lot of electricity, which has led local authorities to make considerable efforts to develop and modernize the electrical infrastructure of Constanta. Considering these aspects, the objective of this study is to analyze the actions taken to restore electric lighting system and also to improve the process generation, transmission and distribution of electricity in the city of Constanta in the interwar period
