Summary/Abstract: From the data we achieved to get in fieldwork all around the Kosova we came to conclusion that: - Sharkia is used almost in each Kosovo village and city. - Shape, naming, technique of playing, of crafting, tuning is same all around Kosova. - Songs are being sung while sharkia is played still in men’s room – oda, in weddings, festivals, and folk music concerts. - It is used as a solo and escorting musical instrument. - Lyrical, historical, immigration, bravery songs are accompanied by it as well as traditional folk melodies and dances. - Sharkia during interpretation is followed up by çiftelia, prim, violin etc. - It has a long temporal application of approximately two centuries. - Together with lahuta and çiftelia, sharkia is one of loveliest and most popular instruments in our folk music tradition. Finally we should add that is a folk chordophone music instrument, which has its own physiognomy and at the same time melodies and songs followed up by sharkias consist an interesting phenomena for ethno-organological studies.
