Summary/Abstract: Purpose – The aim of this article is an attempt to analyze foreign direct investment (FDI) made indeveloping countries, with special emphasis on Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) countries. Methodology – Researches include the size and sectorial and geographical structure. The performed analyzesare generally based on data from the years 2010–2015, and in some cases, on old studies dating back to 80s and 90s Result – Among developing countries, the greatest FDI recipients are two regions: Asia and Latin America. It is just quite like Sub-Saharan Africa was marginalized. This trend is even more perceptible in the analysis of individual countries in the region. Sectorial structure and geographic FDI in ASS remain dominant in the oil industry and are concentrated in a small number of countries. Originality/value – This document is not intended to be exhaustive in terms of FDI issues in sub-Saharan Africa. There is still a lot of issues demanding a precise definition – the inalienable seem to be any inadequate research focused on the development of countries in that region.
