External Balance of New EU Member States After Global Financial Crisis

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study was to assess external balance of new EU member states after last global financial crisis. The study consists of three parts. The first part describes current account balance in relation to GDP of these countries in period 2008–2016, the second analysis the scale of their international investment position and the third presents external debt of these countries after last global financial crisis. The research results show that many of these indicators improved after global financial crisis, but indicators related to foreign debt are still on the high level what is a source of risk for analysed economies.
