Summary/Abstract: The author concretizes the works od Slovak authors after 1989 (Tomáš Horváth, Jana Bodnárová, Marek Vadasa, Tom von Kamin, Petr Píšťanka, Ivica Ruttkayová, Pavel Hrůza, Márius Kopcsaya, Balla etc.) who are written either completely or partially in Czech (quotations, the language of characters, dialogues etc.). Součková finds out the level in which Czech is functional in the texts – if it is a tool of characterizing of a character or environment, language of the older literature, a means of the comic (irony or parody), or it is only prank, a method of “making special” of prose and amusement, often only of the author himself. Součková also considers the causes of the more frequent presence of Czech in the Slovak post-Velvet Revolution prose and on the opposite the reasons of eminence of the prosaic work.
