Summary/Abstract: Frederic Dame (1849-1907) is known as a dedicatee of the "Poesies" of Isidore Ducasse, alias Lautreamont. The paper studies the process of romanization of this French naturalized Romanian, professor, journalist, lexicographer, historian. Dame constitutes a perfect example of bilingualism. His universal personality establishes a bridge between France and Romania. His spirit of enterprise and his French-Romanian cross look define him as an enthusiastic European polygraph.
