ICT as a Tool Facilitating Communication between Operators of Public Transportation and their Environment

Summary/Abstract: Widespread application of internet and ICT, along with steadily increasing number of their potential applications, change the modern economy to a great degree, influencing entities on all levels and in all areas. This concerns the area of public transportation operators and their environment - especially passengers. The objective of the article is to present a review of modern ICT ‒ based solutions used by public transportation operators to communicate with their environment. The research was performed based on five Polish public transportation operators chosen on the basis of the size of their cities of operation.
