Tradition and innovation in the picture structure of Szergej Paradzsanov`s movies

Summary/Abstract: The author analyses the pictures frame and the structure of Szergej Paradazsanov’s, Armenian director’s two films: ”Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors”and ”Colour of Pomegranate”. These two works meant a turning point in the art of Paradzsanov. In the ”Colour of Pomegranate” the relationship between traditional culture and the character of the film is so profound and it lead to such innovative results that his later films are basically continuing the aesthetic revelations of his former masterpieces.
